AMA works through 5 identified local partner organizations, and has established partner relationships across 6 countries.
Our partner countries are Nigeria, Kenya, Democratic Republic of Congo, Burkina Faso, Togo and South Sudan. We publish the identity of a partner organization only once a formal agreement and written consent to be named are in place — several of our partners are public institutions for whom this protection matters.
What we look for in a partner
Before AMA funds a local organization, it must meet a defined set of criteria. No organization is funded until this review is complete.
Operational capacity
Whether the organization can deliver in the field.
Governance & financial compliance
How it is run, and how it accounts for the money it receives.
Community roots & legitimacy
Whether it is known and trusted where it works.

Evidence of its past work and results.
What partnership involves
Partnership with AMA is a two-way commitment. AMA provides the institutional structure that local organizations often lack: a U.S. 501(c)(3) framework through which international grants can be received, financial administration, compliance, and the reporting infrastructure institutional funders require. In return, partners bring what cannot be supplied from outside — local presence, community trust, technical staff, and the ability to deliver where the need is greatest. Funding is milestone-based and traced from source to field, and AMA remains accountable for how every grant is used.
