A funding channel for locally-led healthcare
Alliance for Medical Access is a nonprofit organization incorporated in Wyoming, United States, operating as a fiscal sponsor and consortium. AMA does not run field operations of its own. Its role is to assess local organizations already working on healthcare access, help them structure fundable projects, channel institutional and individual funding to them, and account for how that funding is used.
This model exists for a specific reason. Capable local organizations are frequently excluded from institutional funding not because their work is weak, but because they cannot meet the administrative, reporting and compliance requirements that large funders impose. AMA carries those requirements so that they do not have to.

Contributions do not go to AMA to be spent by AMA. They are allocated to the campaign the donor selects and released to a local partner organization once a project is approved. AMA remains accountable for the funds at every step, and for documenting where they went.

AMA's disbursement protocol provides that funds are released against defined milestones rather than as a single transfer. Each disbursement requires supporting documentation from the partner organization and is reviewed before the next tranche is released.

A contribution made today is unrestricted: it supports AMA’s core work of assessing partner organizations, developing fundable projects and building the consortium. Unrestricted funds are not tied to a single project and can be directed where they are most needed.
Give to AMATax receipts
Contributions made through Every.org are tax-deductible in the United States. Every.org, a 501(c)(3) organization (EIN 61-1913297), receives the gift and issues the donor's receipt. Alliance for Medical Access is itself a U.S. 501(c)(3) nonprofit (EIN 32-0841542).
What happens to a designated gift
A contribution made to a specific campaign is a designated gift. AMA treats it as restricted to that purpose and accounts for it separately from unrestricted funds. It cannot be used for another programme or for operating costs.
- The project proceeds. Funds are released to the partner organization under the disbursement protocol described above.
- The project does not proceed. AMA contacts donors individually to ask permission before redirecting the gift to a comparable project. Absent that permission, the funds remain restricted and unspent.
- A donor requests a refund before disbursement. AMA will process the request together with the giving platform, subject to that platform's own policy.
