Partnerships

Building healthcare access together

Alliance for Medical Access designs, finances, and conducts healthcare access programs across Sub-Saharan Africa and South Asia. This work rests on two kinds of partnerships: the local organizations that deliver care on the ground, and the funders, institutions, and companies that make that work possible. This page explains what each brings, and what each receives.

For Local Health Organizations

What a partnership with AMA gives you

  1. 1Access to international funding through a recognized U.S. 501(c)(3) structure.
  2. 2Support structuring your project, turning a field-level need into a fundable proposal that meets institutional standards.
  3. 3Strengthened governance and financial controls — gains that stay with you well beyond the project.
  4. 4Your proposal presented to funders under a structure whose transparency is already publicly verified: the Candid Platinum Seal and 501(c)(3) status.
  5. 5Access to the AMA network: partner organizations across several countries facing the same obstacles you do.

Our support aims at your independence. Every partnership is designed to make you capable, over time, of accessing institutional funding directly.

For Funders, Foundations & Institutions

Fund the field without giving up traceability

  1. 1A compliant U.S. vehicle, able to receive and disburse institutional funds in complex environments.
  2. 2Already-assessed partners, reviewed on governance, financial controls, community roots, and documented results.
  3. 3Disbursements released in tranches against milestones, each payment documented before the next.
  4. 4Reporting to funder standards, with a commitment to independent external evaluation.

Every dollar entrusted to AMA is traced from its source to the field, and AMA remains accountable for it at every step.

How We Choose

What we look for in a partner

No organization is funded before this review is complete.

Governance & Financial Compliance
How the organization is run, and how it accounts for the funds it receives.
Operational Capacity
The ability to carry out field activities, with technical staff, presence in the intervention area, and logistics suited to the project.
Community Roots & Legitimacy
An organization known to local communities and health authorities, able to demonstrate acceptance in the field and a trusted relationship with the populations it serves.
Documented Track Record
Evidence of past work and results, backed by documents: activity reports, financial statements, and verifiable references.
The Process

What happens after you apply

01

Application

You complete the form below. There is no cost, and applying does not commit you to anything.

02

Initial Review

AMA reviews your organizational capacity, governance, and how your activities align with the health domains AMA supports.

03

Due Diligence

Legal registration, financial controls, and track record are verified before any funding relationship.

04

Interview

A conversation with your team to confirm fit and discuss the practical terms of a partnership.

05

Decision

AMA notifies you of its decision in writing. If favorable, a partnership agreement defines the framework of the collaboration, each party's commitments, and its duration. Any funding is the subject of a separate, project-by-project agreement. If declined, the reasons are shared with you.
