Bridging the globalhealth access gap.
Alliance for Medical Access designs, finances, and conducts healthcare access programs across Sub-Saharan Africa and South Asia — with local partner organizations, and through its own operations.
The domains we fund
Maternal & Child Health
Prenatal care, safe delivery, and care for young children in areas where the nearest health facility is hours away on foot.
Essential Medicines
Strengthening supply chains for life-saving treatments, where stockouts are the leading cause of forgone care.
Community Health Workers
Training and equipping the people who are, for millions, the only point of contact with the health system.
Infectious Disease Prevention
Malaria, tuberculosis, and vaccine-preventable disease, where screening arrives too late.
Nutrition
Treating child malnutrition, which silently worsens every other condition.
Digital Health
Developing applications and using artificial intelligence to bring diagnosis and monitoring closer to the populations furthest from care.
Health Research
AMA supports operational research conducted with national institutions in partner countries, and carries more structured work on specific questions — detecting antimalarial resistance, diagnosing vitamin B12 deficiency, and other areas where diagnostic tools are missing in resource-limited settings.
Rare & Neglected Diseases
Conditions that fall outside major health programs for lack of scale, whose patients face isolation as much as the absence of care.
Our modes of intervention
Alliance for Medical Access' modes of intervention cover four forms of support, deployed alone or combined depending on the project and partner.
From a field need to a funded project
Between the moment a local organization describes a need to us and the moment the first funds reach the field, there is a path. Here it is, with no gray areas.
First Contact & Review
We examine governance, financial controls, technical capacity, and legal registration. We respond within two to three weeks.
Project Structuring
The need becomes a costed project, with a budget, indicators, and timeline that meet funder requirements.
Fundraising
AMA brings the case to funders as the applicant of record.
First Disbursement
Funds are released in tranches, each tied to a milestone and documented before the next is released.
What we're looking for right now
AMA is actively building its project portfolio. We are prioritizing local organizations with projects in maternal and child health, community health worker training, and essential medicines access, in both our partner countries and our expansion-priority countries. A project at the idea stage is as welcome as one ready to scale.
Who can approach us
AMA is open to all types of structures: health centers, NGOs, local associations, public and private structures alike. The only requirement at this stage is to be legally registered in its own country.
How to make first contact
First contact happens through the short form on this page, with no attachment required. Registration documents and a detailed budget are requested later, at the project-structuring stage, and only from applicants who are selected to move forward.
